Reflect: Political ideology has an enormous impact on our world at every level of politics: local, state, national, and international. How political ideology manifests itself provides insight into the social, technological, environmental, and economic institutions, political structures, and actors of every political entity. The ability to evaluate how political ideology impacts politics is an essential skill that all political scientists must have to become a professional in their field of study. Write: In your essay of at least three pages, address the following: Describe the central political ideology discussed in each article (1 page). Identify one national and one international policy affected by one of the political ideologies discussed (1 page). Political Scandals
In your essay of at least three pages, research one major scandal involving politicians (Watergate, Bill Clinton, Iran-Contra Affair, Silvio Berlusconi, etc.), and address the following: Describe how the media portrayed the politicians involved (1 page). Discuss the outcome of the scandal (1 page). Did individuals gain greater political power and exposure? Did they resign from office or were their political careers cut short due to the scandal? Explain what effect, if any, the scandal had on the political environment and the media and why (1 page).
American Political Event
During the entire class, you should be paying attention to what is going on in the US and abroad. For this discussion, you will be asked three questions. The three types of federal courts in the USA are District Courts, Circuit Courts, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Discuss these three different types of federal courts and explain how they work. Transnational Organized Crime
For your final paper, choose: One international crime AND one transnational crime, And one or two theories we have covered in class.
