Directions: For the final essay exam in this class, you are required to compose a 400-450 word argumentative essay addressing the following question. As a brief reminder, this essay is worth 32 points.     FINAL ESSAY EXAM QUESTION    During the semester, we discussed a variety of issues related to Black liberation and the oppressive experiences Black communities face.  Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylor examines the explosion of the #BlackLivesMatter Movement by examining Black people’s ongoing struggle with violence, police brutality, and exploitation by the criminal justice system.  She ends the book with a simple question. Based on our class readings, class discussions, and your essays and research papers, develop a 400-450 word argumentative essay that addresses the following question.    Can Black people gain equality in America? 

Write a book review of How Democratic is the American Constitution? by Robert Dahl. The review should be approximately 1000 words (3-4 pp.) long, and should address the following questions: (1) what is Robert A. Dahl’s overall argument in the book, and why does he consider it important to make this argument? (2) how does Dahl develop this argument over the course of his book’s eight chapters (plus two Appendices)? (3) what, in your view, is the strongest part of the book? (4) what, in your view, is the weakest or most questionable part of the book? (5) do you think that this book is relevant to the current political situation in the U.S., yes or no, and why or why not?Reviews will be read, line-edited, graded, and returned to students. Students will then be required to submit revised drafts by September 30. Second drafts will be regraded based on the quality of the revision. This is the grade that will “count.” Only source required is the book.

I need to write a research paper if democracy is dying. I would like to include these countries in my essay: Poland, Hungary, Russia, China, the USA, South Africa, and India because in those countries, democracy is in trouble. If you find other countries where democracy causes many issues, you could include them too, but please ask me in advance. The aspects of the question are Voting and the rise of populism. You need to include the extent of people voting and how many people actually voting: for who they are voting for: populist parties or democratic parties, and so on. And why people are not voting or are feeling mistrust or anger towards parties and other indicators of why democracy is in trouble. The US 2020 election should be included in the essay. For example, the president of the US is trying to steal the elections and how turnout matter in decline over time . I do not have many arguments, but if you could find some, that would be great! All arguments need to be persuasive, nuanced, and interesting. You should also include the rise of populism in those given countries and how this cause problems for democracy. There is also evidence on both sides. Democracy is dying, but in other countries, it is also increasing. So at the end of my essay, I would like to have something written like this: “It is complicated there is evidence on both sides, but on balance by my presentation the evidence comes down on the side of …  In the essay, you should analyze all the pieces of evidence you found and then choose which evidence is more persuasive. So the essay needs evidence and arguments on both sides.

Analyze and evaluate the relationship between the United States and another country (or related group of countries). Explain the history of the relationship and identify key challenges and opportunities in the relationship.
