[Get Solution] Public Budgeting
Public budgeting revolves around two basic powers the power to raise revenue (e.g., to tax) and the power to use the revenues raised to accomplish legitimate constitutionally authorized goals (e.g., to spend). Both of these actions have a wide range of both intended and often unintended consequences. Economic policies and political realities often arise in issues of taxing and spending policies, their influence on the economy, and the resulting impacts on jobs, incomes, living standards and relative freedom and liberty. Ronald Reagan famously employed supply side economics and the Laffer Curve in the national budget and budget decisions. After carefully reading this weeks reading assignments, you will conduct your own research and write a concise but thorough research paper 1) explaining and examining the Laffer Curve and a historical perspective on the balance of tax burdens and revenue generation; 2) analyzing contemporary proposals and arguments for the tax cuts in tax reform; 3) analyzing the politics of tax cut discussions in contemporary budget and tax reform issues, and 4) providing a Judeo-Christian analysis of the potential role of tax cuts in contemporary tax reform. The text of this research paper must be 57 pages (not including title page, reference page, and any appendices). This paper must be in current APA format with 1-inch margins and 12-pt Times New Roman font. You must also include a title page and reference page. You must include citations to a sufficient number of appropriate professional, scholarly, or other appropriate sources to fully support your assertions and conclusions (which will likely require more than the minimum number of citations); each paper must contain citations to the course texts book, assigned readings, and a minimum of 5 additional sources, not including the course textbooks, assigned readings, and the Bible.

[Get Solution] Local and State Governments
1. Please help me to write an answer with 4-5 sentences on the following question and please read these 2 links:https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/executive-order-protecting-american-monuments-memorials-statues-combating-recent-criminal-violence/On Friday, June 26, 2020, President Trump issued Executive Order on Protecting American Monuments, Memorials, and Statues and Combating Recent Criminal Violence. The Order protects public monuments, memorials, and statues. The Order further seeks to protect state and local monuments. However, under our system of federalism, defacing a state or local monument would be a violation of state or local law. Therefore, federal law enforcement cannot enforce such a violation of law.In order for the president to ensure state and local monuments are also protected, he is directing officials to consider holding back funding and grants.Although the president is well-intended on protecting all monuments, memorials, and statues, do you think the president is overstepping his executive powers by directing officials to consider holding back federal funding and grants? Explain.2. Please help me to write the responds to 2 following discussions(2-3) sentences1. In my opinion, this is not only President Trumps decision to consider containing federal funding and grants. With all this, they want to stop this violence, as well as punish people with these decisions. But people go against the law, destroy state statuses and other things, and this is not good. What example we give to our children with such actions, the same can somehow be solved with the right path and not with the destroyed ones, that this country will belong to our children in the future. According to the state and presidency, they are only thinking of those people who are protesting and raping the country today, but how about those people who are struggling today in difficult times with this Covid-19 and crisis, what should they do in such a difficult time. I think Government and Trump should think something else what would be good for everyone, that’s my opinion.2. I believe that the president is overstepping his power by doing this. America’s government was set up in a way that local and state governments would have to govern themselves with influence but not total control from the federal level. By trying to enforce state laws at the federal level he is overstepping this boundary. Regarding the withholding of funding towards states that do not support the policy, it may be unethical but has already happened in America before. States were forced to choose between raising their drinking age or losing highway funding, the same is happening now except with the monument policy. Forcing states to either comply with the policy which may lead to more protests towards the state that went against them or would lead greater protests towards the federal government who are trying to stop them. So in my opinion this policy will only end badly and have the opposite effect but is the president’s power to put in place. Instead of enforcing local laws at a federal level a way that would not overstep boundaries would instead be to get the local and state governments to enforce and pass their own laws.
[Get Solution] Life, Liberty and Property
COMPARE AND CONTRAST: Life, Liberty and Property (John Locke, 1690s) vs. Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness (Thomas Jefferson, 7/4/1776) How could a government that protects your property rights be different from one that protects your right to pursue happiness? Which one would be a better government? Things to think about: * Does our government do a bad job of protecting your property? How so? * Would your answer be different if you were a billionaire? (money is property too!). Why? Some people say that if government focuses on protecting people’s private property, then it’s favoring rich people too much. Do you agree? Why or why not? Why would someone say this? Why might a rich person disagree?

I have provided all the resources needed for the assignment Decide on a critical policy issue (for example, the need for a particular policy, the need for the elimination of a particular policy or the modification of a particular policy) and write a policy memorandum. Writing the Policy Memo – Instructions Reason for Writing: A policy memo is a practical document written by professionals in particular fields, scholars or a stakeholders including private citizens and members of nonprofit organizations and think tanks with vested interests in the subject of the memo. Usually, a policy memo advocates for some change, although the writer could also argue for the status quo. Either way, all feasible approaches should be acknowledged and analyzed. Audience for Policy Memo: Typically, policy memos are sent to people who are responsible for making, interpreting or implementing policy at various levels of the government, government agencies and for-profit and nonprofit organizations which must comply with mandates. Length of Policy Memo: A policy memo can be written in a few pages or 100 pages or more, depending upon a host of factors including the goal in writing the memo, the complexity of explaining research/data access methods, controversy surrounding the topic (some issues require the consideration of a great number of points-of-view regarding problem and solution). For the purpose of this assignment, the memo should not exceed ten (10) pages including citations. Qualities of a Good Policy Memo: Professional/academic writing. Simple, grammatically correct, straight-forward language, that is, language devoid of fancy, folksy, jargonistic or personal expression (unless relevant to the topic under review). Sustained Focus on Objective. Goal is to convince the audience that a problem exists, validity of analysis and policy recommendations. Everything said should support credibility. Avoid digression. Evidence-based. Clear evidence that a problem exists or will exist if the status quo is not maintained and that recommendations made in memo make most sense. Use of evidence, as well, to dispatch opposing alternatives. Evidence provided in memo to support argument and discount opposing arguments should be characterized by explicit criteria. A cost-benefit analysis can add credibility to the argument. Good Structure. Example of memo structure appears below. Whatever system is used to structure the memo, there should be an explicit structure or plan with logical sequence from topic to topic and use of transitions between topics. Good Presentation. Uniform type style; Consistent approach on titles, subtitles and indentation. Proper citation of sources. Compliance with the APA (American Psychological Association) style guide. Practicality and Feasibility. Problem addressed should be a real, existing problem which, if eliminated, would substantially improve peoples lives. The recommendations in memo should be practical and feasible and better than other feasible approaches. 1: the American party system is far more dominated by two political parties than almost any long-standing democracy. If we elected members of Congress using proportional representation rather than our current system, what effect would that have on the number of parties in the US? How would such a change affect the behavior of voters? 2: Other than the first-past-the-post electoral system used to elect members of Congress, what is one major factor that promotes the two-party system in the US? 3: The US uses a presidential system of government, but many countries around the world (like Canada, Japan, and the UK) use a parliamentary system instead. How is the head of government selected in each system? How is the head of government removed in each system? 4: How does the sugar industry exemplify the influence of lobbyists in the legislative process? 5: What are the four types of legislation that are introduced in Congress?
