Introduction Paragraph: Summarizes the purpose of the paper, uses an attention-getting devise to draw the reader in. 2. Paragraphs 2-3: Provide a summative analysis of federalism, tracing its evolution throughout U.S. history to where we are today. 3. Paragraph 4: Provide an analysis of a current topic or issue pertaining to federalism. A. Describe the issue or topic b. In this first part of our discussion board, each of you is going to choose a theory that is discussed in chapter three of the book. It can be realism, liberalism, radicalism, or constructivism (the reason I’ve not included feminism is that it’s more of a critique of the other theories rather than a standalone theory of its own). You can choose whichever one you want. You shouldn’t need anything other than the book and the videos in Module 2 to do this assignment, but you can also use other internet sources if you would like, so long as they are reputable. Ideally, please post your response below rather than uploading it as a word document/PDF, since that’s harder for your classmates to read. I would like you to compose a 300-500 word post that summarizes the following about your theory: 1) What are the basics of your theory? What does your theory think are the most important things to pay attention to in international relations? What is the role of the state in your theory? 2) What do you find compelling about your theory? What makes it believable? 3) What do you find unbelievable or unrealistic about your theory? You can score up to 20 points based on your use of evidence, the thoroughness and accuracy of your answer, and your correct usage of grammar/spelling.

Go to the Library of Congress website. Find a piece of legislation on a topic of interest to you. In your own words, report what you found. Identify a bill by name and number. Who is the sponsor of this bill? When and what was the last action taken on this bill? If this bill has already passed both houses and signed by the President, when did it become law? Is there a public law number? Briefly, tell us, in your own words, what this proposed legislation is about. Provide a direct link to this bill/law. Then, see if you can find this same bill on the govtrack.us website. Congratulations! On your new role as the newest member of the US Supreme Court. Your task is to record a yes or no voters on the following three questions:   *Does the constitution protect the right of privacy   *Did the state law, as applied in this specific case, violate a right to privacy?   *Does the state sodomy law deny the equal protection guaranteed by the 14th Amendment Facts: These two gentlemen were arrested when they were caught engaging in illegal consensual sodomy in the privacy of their home. Before 2003, this behavior was considered a misdemeanor crime. When the officer arrived under the false report of a jealous friend, these two gentlemen were discovered and arrested.  The third person on this scenario was arrested for filing a false report. The sodomy charge resulted in a short stay in jail and a small $ fine However, they fought back bringing this all the way to the life-time tenured us Supreme Court. Their argument is law passed and enforced in this situation was unconstitutional. This was a 6-3 decision allowing for disagreement. I want you to understand the power of the US Supreme Court to challenge the policies of any state. In this case, a to challenge to a conservative policy. If you side with Lawrence, the law is voided. If you vote with Texas, the homosexual act remains a crime. Record your yes or no vote in each question and write an explanation that explains your vote on the case. It is not necessary to explain each question. A yes vote in # 2 or 3 gets rid of the sodomy law.  A no vote on #1 -is an automatic no on #2.
