Please watch the link below and answer the question https://www.ted.com/talks/lisa_feldman_barrett_you_aren_t_at_the_mercy_of_your_emotions_your_brain_creates_them -you have been taught all of your life that emotions like anger, sadness, joy, surprise, and disgust are universal. They live lives of their own in our minds. How does this video change your thinking on that? Or how does it not change your thinking?-Dr? Feldman Barretts argument that one is responsible and in control of their emotions seems really great for regulating our reactions everyday inconveniences, but how well do you think taking responsibility of and controlling our emotions could deal with much more intense emotional reactions for situations that we cant control? For example, many Americans live in a world where they experience voting suppression. How could regulating ones emotions lead to positive change in such a circumstance?

What interested you about these theories? Critical thinking is that mode of thinking about any subject, content, or problem in which the thinker improves the quality of his or her thinking by skillfully taking charge of the structures inherent in thinking and imposing intellectual standards upon them ( Edward M. Glaser, An Experiment in the Development of Critical Thinking, Teachers College, Columbia University, 1941).The different methods that are used within critical thinking is what I found to be very intriguing. The two-step decision making really had me think and how do I decide things when making a decision rather in my personal life of work related. With circuital thinking it allows you sometime to think out side the box and at time it may even put you out of your comfort zone which to me is good for growth. How do they play a role in your personal or professional life? Rather at work school or home I have to use critical thinking rather I like it or not but it is key for me to make good sound decisions. My place of employment critical think is a must and when I look at the trigger critical thinking, I always use a lot of humor because I work with as risk youth and I always say were all on the same of the table to get them to think in a positive matter. In school is where I struggle because of being online and not seeing the person who is giving you feedback can be taking out of text. I am learning that constructive criticism is a way to grow and it also is a form of critical thinking that is needed to grow. At home dealing with 3 teenagers and two younger children the five-step critical thinking general problem-solving process is key in a house of seven. Everyone always has a problem and of course they want mom and dad to solve them but Ive learned that if I always come to their aid when they get out in the real world they will or may fail because I didnt all them to think on their own.How do you see them applied in the world around you or in current events? I see people using critical thinking daily but as far as the world I just dont think they apply it (government). How could you imagine using each model as a practitioner-scholar working in your specialization?Using all the models as a practitioner-scholar would work perfect its just know when and which model to use at the right time. If you really look at the models they all require you to think and ask question and come up with a solution and that is what a leaner is required to do.
