Describe the lifestyle factors pertaining to nutrition that can help to prevent childhood obesity and the development of Type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and other childhood illnesses. Chapters 12 & 14 are good references. Please continue to apply the original set of instructions “minimum 500 words”. Always be cognizant of college level work, these are my expectations. I would have liked to see more scientific explanations and examples. Review the rubric.

Find a peer-reviewed research article on any topic concerning sports nutrition sports, then write a summary of the article.  Be sure to state the specific aims of the study as well as the study design and methods, the results and conclusions. A peer-reviewed research study has these sections: introduction, methods, results with figures and tables, and a conclusion.  The sections may not be labeled with these exact words, but the paper is designed to report the results of a research study. A research article is not a review article. A research article reports the results of a research study. You can tell the difference between a research article and a review article because a review article summarizes several research studies.

Nutritional Analysis Students are required to complete a nutritional analysis exercise. The student will conduct an analysis of a 24 hour period to include macronutrients, vitamins, and minerals. Information will be organized in a table format to include: food list for 24 hours, total nutritional value of each item, and recommended daily allowance, risks of deficiency, and recommended changes. Students will then need to write a three page paper reflecting on their intake of foods including cultural influences and plans to improve and or maintain good nutrition. The paper must be typed with 1” margins, double spacing and a 12 point Times Roman font.
