Crimes Investigator
Early in the semester I wanted to know if you became an investigator what type of investigator would you be. Now, you are an investigator. Choose what type of investigator, Major crimes investigator (Robbery, homicide, sex crimes). Gang investigator, narcotics investigator, or Vice (Prostitution, Gambling) investigator. Create a story of a crime that you have investigated. Describe the crime Tell the story of how it happened Explain your investigative tactics Have a few sentences as your arrest report Close with a conviction, and sentencing of your suspect. Your paper must have factual context of the crime that you wrote that you investigated. This means that you must follow the Objectives of an Investigation: Read the seven objectives of a police investigation on page #17. Remember- If they invoke their rights, this means that they do not talk to you. Explain your evidence, (You can do this in the report. do not make a PPT presentation like I did for the assault report). Blood Pattern Analysis
Pick three articles which have attempted to address the CJ problems you identified your Writing Assignment. The idea is to examine what has been learned before. What data did those studies use to address the CJ problem? Did the authors feel that data was adequate to address the problem? What conclusions did they make? Government Suppression
Your final project will highlight a CURRENT HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATION AND/OR HUMANITARIAN CONCERN in your country, but will also connect the other topics that you have researched over the course of the class. How to show the human rights violation/humanitarian concern connected to unit assignments: Is it because of economic conditions? Is it from war? Is it a result of government suppression? It may not connect all of the topics we have discussed over the course of the module but you must connect as many as you can and explain in your captions the connection of photo to violation/concern. This will be your final assessment and will be a separate grade from unit assignments. It is strongly recommended that you collect photos as you complete your research for each unit assignment essay/paper. You may need or want to include other visuals such as maps, charts, etc. to help you create a more complete picture of your country. Be creative in choosing how to present your photos. Will you use PowerPoint? Will you use Prezi? Can you create a YouTube video? Can you organize and create Pinterest boards? You must include a formal reference page that is written in APA format. It may be wise to keep a running bibliography for all essays and photos. Remember, you are trying to bring awareness of the human rights violation/humanitarian concern to the world.
