My father lived in the USA. We had plantain and orange trees. I played in the backyard with my sisters and friends daily after attending class at the age of 4 years old. The light would go off for various hours a day and my grandmother used candles and a lamp when the light went off. I grew up in a neighborhood that is very united, we respect the elders, saw each other as family. Go with my mother and grandmother for bingo and domino day while we played, we didn’t use technology, instead played with rocks, toys, sand, climbed trees, and life seem so perfect. I am very outspoken, i like to help anyone in need, my family always comes first, I am a hard worker. I dislike liars, rats, people who don’t like to help others, i dislike the city and would like to move to the suburb. I came to the united states of America at the age of 5 to be with my parents and sisters. I traveled back home yearly to visit my family back in the Dominican Republic. I have two daughters, a four-year-old and a two-month-old. I lost my oldest sister ___________ to gun violence in the Dominican Republic on 12/30/2019 while she was on vacation. She was my best friend, I spend almost all my weekends with her, spoke on the phone daily and this changed my life completely. Due to her death, I decided to change my major from nursing to human services, so I can help out those in need, kids, parents, orphans.
