McLeroy, Norton, Kegler, Burdine, and Sumaya (2003), in “Community-Based Interventions,” provided a useful typology for contrasting perspectives in community focus for incorporation in interventions. The community was presented as a setting, a target, a resource, and an agent. The application of these various perspectives results in a continuum of community-based interventions. In the light of the above statement, describe an affected community in these various roles in a major public health disaster in the U.S. We know of hurricanes Katrina and Rita and wildfires in California. Feel free to cite personal examples or experiences to substantiate your claims. Your response should be a minimum of two pages in length exclusive of cover page and references.  All sources used, including the textbook, must be referenced; paraphrased and quoted material must have accompanying citations, per APA guidelines.

First create a spiritual assessment survey. Second, select one person to interview, based on the following criteria: Able to meet in-person Has had a stressful health or wellness experience (positive or negative) related to your field study Agrees to a spiritual needs assessment interview Third, use the spiritual assessment survey you created to interview the selected person. During the interview, record the interviewee’s responses. The transcript should include the questions asked and the answers provided. Part II: Analysis Write a 500-750-word analysis of your interview experience. Include the following in your response: The spiritual assessment survey questions that you asked and summary of responses. In what ways did the interviewee’s experience amplify his or her spiritual concerns or needs? Explain your answer with examples. What is the importance of understanding various diverse cultures, values, beliefs, and experiences when assessing spiritual concerns and needs? How does this inform communication between healthcare professionals, caregivers, and those to whom you provide care? Provide examples. Based on the interview process, answer the following: What went well? Provide examples. Were there any barriers or challenges that inhibited your ability to complete the spiritual assessment survey? How would you address these in the future or change your assessment to better address these challenges? How does the spiritual assessment survey allow you to better meet the needs of your patient? What other insights do you have about providing spiritual care in your field of study? Submit both the transcript of the interview and the analysis of your results as one document. APA style is not required, but solid academic writing is expected.

For that timeline you have selected, do additional research on healthcare resources that were/are available to consumers at that time. Answer the following questions as related to that specific timeline and related resources you have selected:  From your perspective, briefly describe the nature of healthcare at that time. Outline some of the resources available to consumers within that timeline. What factors affected the availability of resources for health promotion within the community? What would you do as a community health administrator do to provide better services/resources for your consumers? What is the role of evolution of technology in health care across this timeline? Do you believe it will have a positive or negative effect? Explain. Your paper MUST follow the APA format, and should be a minimum of two pages in length excluding cover page and references.
