Improving Schools

Hi! I want a research paper done by December 5th. I will provide the informations you need to know down below, and a sample of how the paper should look like. This is the debate my professor is referring to in the instructions: https://www.nytimes.com/roomfordebate/2015/03/26/is-improving-schools-all-about-money/society-benefits-when-we-spend-more-on-education Hoping to get an A for this assignment! Some Basics ALL sections of the project should be written in 12 point font, Times New Roman, and double-spaced. All sections should be submitted as ONE document to Canvas. The first page of your document should have a proper MLA heading and page numbers should be placed in the upper right corner of the page—page numbers should be consecutive. Do not forget a title and a Works Cited page. You need one Works Cited page for the whole project. It should be included with the rest of your materials and should come at the end of your document. This project has a minimum of 5 full pages to receive full credit. The Works Cited page is not included in the page count. I’ve provided a breakdown below. Assignment Breakdown 1-2 pages background information 2-3 pages synthesis 2-3 pages response Works Cited page (s)   Breakdown Descriptions 1-2 pages background information This section should introduce your readers to the overview and background of your topic “Is Improving Schools All about Money?”. This SHOULD include a reference to the “Room for Debate” forum and date of debate. As concise as possible, you should present the overview of the varying perspectives that you found on this topic, and then finally, you should introduce your conclusion/thesis on this topic.   2-3 pages synthesis This section should be organized by the different positions made by the debaters and the materials  you found doing your research. This means you should organize the 10 sources based on the different points that were made. For example, you might have a group that thinks improving schools is about the money, others who think it is about the teachers, and maybe others who think it is about local intrusiveness—organize your materials based on relationships such as these. You should then get into the varying people who contributed to each particular position, and then offer specific examples from their texts. You should cite these moments directly from the debaters/research. Missing specific examples from the texts will result in a lower grade on the paper.     2-3 pages response In your response you should answer the question “Is Improving Schools All about Money?” In this section you should support your own position on this topic using the debaters and your research. Please provide in-text support from the materials in the forms of paraphrasing, direct quoting, or summarizing.   Works Cited page You will include all materials in this section. They should be alphabetized and in MLA format.

Learning Theorists

For this task, select six additional peer-reviewed journal articles that focus on two of the theorists you read about this week. This may include Pavlov, Thorndike, Watson, Guthrie, Skinner, Vygotsky, or Piaget. You will apply what you learned regarding these theorists into an essay that compares and contrasts the two theorists. Locate and read at least six peer-reviewed articles regarding two theorists of your choice. Three articles will be read regarding one theorist, and three articles will be read regarding the other theorist. Apply what you have learned from your research, and then write an essay that compares and contrasts the theories. Consider what each theorist believed, and how that theory fits into the classroom. Analyze how each of these theories could support differentiated PK-12 instructional practices. Discuss how these theories have shaped the way teachers teach. Demonstrate comprehension, application, analysis, assessment, and integration of the research you find on the theorists you choose. State how the theories are similar and how they differ. State how these theories would be applied to educational practice. Length: 5-7 pages, not including the title and reference pages References: Minimum of six scholarly resources Your paper should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course by providing new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards. Be sure to adhere to Northcentral University’s Academic Integrity Policy.

Building A Foundation

In order to effectively choose a curriculum approach, you must have the knowledge base regarding curricular approaches, an understanding of your own core beliefs about children, and your image of yourself as a professional. Much of how you approach choices related to curriculum relates to the assumptions and internalized values you bring to your particular school or center (Jaruszewicz, 2013, section 2.4). An important step in this process is connecting what you know about curriculum approaches and how this information fits into your core beliefs. As Jaruszewicz (2013) posits, excellent teachers and caregivers are “reflective” and purposefully think about the curriculum decisions they make and their teaching practices (section 1.5). This journal is a start in that reflective process.-Describe the major differences between an approach and a model.-Compare and contrast the effectiveness of multiple early childhood curricular approaches to your own beliefs by completing the Matrix for Reflection chart.Explain how making these comparisons supports your ability to make appropriate curricular decisions (i.e., respond to the unique needs of children based on culture and experiences, consider developmentally appropriate practice, etc.).

College Life

Wittgenstein hated living and working at Cambridge University.  He especially didn’t like the constant chatter about ethics and politics that is associated with college life, both back then and today.  Whenever he could, he would leave to faraway places: a fjord in Norway, a cottage in western Ireland, and so on. Both of these tendencies sharply contrast with Plato’s depiction of Socrates — he loved to talk about ethics and politics, and he never left Athens.  How would Plato respond to Wittgenstein’s view of philosophy?  Write a paper imagining how Socrates would respond to Wittgenstein’s behavior: pretend that they somehow met and spoke the same language.
