Classroom management plans are created by teachers to assist in the planning and implementation of a positive classroom environment that is efficient, proactively addresses issues that may arise, and provides systematic support for the teacher and students to remain engaged, on task, and productive. Consideration of the unique needs of students should guide the development of a classroom management plan. By understanding student needs, the teacher is better able to identify the types of accommodations and modifications to routinely include in the plan. Use the “Creating a Classroom Management Plan Template” to complete this assignment. Using the grade level for which you would like to teach, create a 750-900 word classroom management plan for students in your special education resource classroom described in the “Class Profile.” Include the following in your classroom management plan: Classroom Management Plan Statement of Purpose. Rules: Description of 3-5 rules, positive reinforcements aligned to each rule, and consequences for not following each rule. Procedures/Routines: Provide 3-5 classroom procedures and routines. Classroom environmental considerations. Implementation Plan: Include information about how you plan to introduce your plan and teach students and paraeducators the rules and procedures. Documentation Plan: Include information about how you will document student behavior and the effectiveness of the classroom management plan. Confidentiality and Ethical/Legal Considerations Plan: Describe your plan to handle confidential documents, protect student rights, and protect the confidential information of individuals with disabilities in your classroom. Crisis Management Plan: Describe steps to de-escalate behavior and how you will handle the safety of students and staff. Substitute Teacher Plans: Describe information you would leave for a substitute teacher coming into your classroom. In addition, rationalize your classroom management plan decisions in 250-400 words, explaining how the plan will meet the needs of the students identified in the “Class Profile.” Support your choices with references to the CEC Ethical Principles and Professional Practice Standards. Support your findings with a minimum of two scholarly resources. APA style is not required, but solid academic writing is expected.

For this final time period you will identify 2 to 3 leaders or major influencers in the field and the most significant contribution made by each. Additionally you will describe 2 or 3 leading theories that are currently driving the field as well as 2 or 3 of the technologies that have come into existence during the current time period in which we are living. As relevant to the time period, conclude this section by briefly identifying those technologies that have recently fallen out of popularity and reasons that this may be true. Conclude this section of the paper with two to three legends that have stood out through time or who have had the most significant impact on the field. Learners and Lessons In this final section of six to eight paragraphs you will discuss what has been learned through time about how technology can best be leveraged to support teaching and learning (2 paragraphs). Additionally you will discuss the current issues and resulting struggles that modern day educational technologists face (2 paragraphs). Focus significantly on what is meant by the digital divide, why this divide exists, and how it might best be addressed (3 to 4 paragraphs).

It should be: A decision you will need to make while working in education or a decision that an acquaintance who works in education will need to make. A decision where there are multiple options being considered. A decision that will take significant time to make successfully. A decision that is a major concern to all involved because it will have consequences in areas such as staffing, finances, ethics etc. These are just suggested areas. As you have learned thus far, professional standards, knowledge, skills, and attitudes will have a direct reflection on your area of specialization. Understanding the intricate details of these in your specialization will help you manage and address specific problems in diverse educational organizations. Go online to this organization’s website, Facebook, LinkedIn etc. and find examples of professional standards that apply to your discipline as well as knowledge, skills, and attitudes. Fill in the professional standards chart with your findings. Be sure to cite all the websites that you used in proper APA format. If you are not employed in education, you should use the area of education that an acquaintance works in and look up the professional standards, knowledge, skills, and attitudes for that area using appropriate websites and proper APA style. Length: 1 completed decision-making chart and 1 completed professional standards chart. References: The decision-making chart does not need references as it is a personal item. The professional standards chart requires you to give a reference for each website, Facebook page, LinkedIn page, etc. where you found information about the standards used in your area of specialization. Decision-Making and Professional Standards in Education Decision-making in education is complex because it is a diverse environment with many stakeholders, and decisions must sometimes be made on the spot without all the facts being immediately available. For example, an online university must decide whether to offer a new degree program without knowing for certain how popular it will be with students. The university would have the marketing team prepare a comparison of similar programs at competitors; a forecast of the employment outlook for graduates of that program; a financial analysis of the number of new full-time and adjunct professors needed, and a timeline to obtain approval of the program from the accreditor, market the program, and create the new courses. This will require meetings with all potential stakeholders so that no group is blindsided by a decision that may affect it. Just as you should always write an outline before composing a paper, so too should you create a diagram as you work on a multi-faceted decision. You may already be used to writing down your choices to help clarify the process; or, using imagery to visualize helps you reach a decision. It really depends on your learning style. Perhaps you have a system for managing your time. You might write a to-do list or make a graphic organizer showing upcoming events and the level of priority in different colors. To assist you in making the decision-making process easier, a prebuilt decision-making chart is being provided this week. You are familiar with the idea that professions have standards for the ethical conduct of their members – for example, in the practice of law, there are strict ethics and codes of conduct for how lawyers should behave in court, deal with money held in trust, maintain confidentiality, etc. In education, the purpose of finding professional standards is so that a school district looking to hire a new leader to bring about school improvement might have a ready-made checklist of desirable skills and attitudes that the successful candidate should possess. A teacher might refer to the website of a national organization like the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics to find guiding principles, content standards, process standards, and resources. This week you will explore the professional standards that correspond to your area of specialization. You may even wish to follow the relevant professional organization’s posts or tweets on a regular basis.

Part 1:  Portrait of Organization Using the initial portrait of your early childhood program created in Unit 3, create a complete description of your programs, philosophy, vision, mission, and goals.  In two paragraphs, include the following information: The name of your organization, number of children (and the ages) served. A mission statement outlining your key philosophy. School officials are concerned about dropping scores across the district in 5th grade mathematics standardized tests. Specifically, students are struggling with addition and subtraction of fractions. These extra hires would result in a staff beyond what will need to be replaced because of teacher attrition. If teachers have a master’s degree, $4,000 is typically added to the base salary.   Besides hiring new teachers, you have considered hiring for positions that do not currently exist in your school. For instance, teachers increasingly notify you of the need for addressing students’ mental health issues. So you have thought about hiring a social worker (which generally costs $86,000, including base salary plus benefits) or school psychologist (which typically requires $93,000, including base salary plus benefits). You have also considered hiring a technical support analyst (which usually costs $81,000, including base salary plus benefits) since increasing enrollment has resulted in a demand for more technology support. In order to persuade the audience to accept the position you are advocating in this paper you will use different kinds of appeals:• ethos (which involves the credibility of the speaker, writer, or authority being cited);• logos (which involves facts, statistics, and logic); and• pathos (which involves emotions).A good persuasive argument uses credible sources, objective evidence, and emotional “hooks” to make use of logos, ethos, and pathos respectively.Be sure your thesis statement is very clear.
