An increasing number of American students are adult learners, and distance learning has become a prominent element in the educational environment. Further, In adult education, epistemology changes from the student learning what the teacher tells him/her to know to a process of the teacher and student working together in the discovery of new knowledge. As such, successful mentoring and coaching are critical to the process. In this assignment, you will explore the relationship of mentoring, coaching, and collaboration and their application to adult learning. General Requirements: Use the following information to ensure successful completion of the assignment: Instructors will be using a grading rubric to grade the assignments. It is recommended that learners review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment in order to become familiar with the assignment criteria and expectations for successful completion of the assignment. This assignment requires that at least two additional scholarly research sources related to this topic, and at least one in-text citation from each source be included. Directions: Write a paper (2,250-2,500 words) that explores the relationship of mentoring, coaching, and collaboration and their application to adult learning. Include the following in your paper: An analysis of mentoring and coaching in the teaching and learning process. In what circumstances are mentoring and coaching necessary? (Benchmarks Learning Theory 2.1: Differentiate between mentoring and coaching in the teaching and learning process.) A discussion of how cognition influences coaching and mentoring success. A discussion of how mentoring and collaboration are applied in adult distance education.

Instructions In your proposal to the department chair, address the following: Key aspects of building a culture of assessment. Focus on strategies for involving faculty, staff, and students. A plan to analyze approaches for assessing student learning. Include specific characteristics and assessments of student learning to monitor. List the questions to address related to assessment for student learning. Use the tables and tools provided in Chapter 7 as a guideline. Discuss how analyzing the selected approaches for assessing student learning can support the development of a culture of assessment within the department. The proposal can be presented in paper format and include tables and charts. The proposal should be 4–5 pages in length and formatted in APA style. Use a minimum of three credible, reliable resources to support the development of the proposal.

Summarize and critique existing research (6 peer reviewed scholarly articles) related to the problem of practice you identified in the previous assignment. Your literature review should describe (a) what is currently known about the problem of practice; (b) what methods have been used to study the problem; (c) how and why these methods are appropriate for the type of problem identified; and (d) how the findings contained within the various articles you reviewed relate to each other.

What is the time frame for the process? What instructions are given to the committee? What do they need to do once they have a book to evaluate? What is the process that the committee follows for decision making? How is the material evaluated? Who makes the final decision of the complaint? How is the process different for non-print materials? Reconsideration form includes: The material information (type, title, author, publisher, etc…) Complainant’s contact information What is the complainant’s complaint? Why is it a complaint? Curriculum familiarity (why do they think the material is included in the collection?) Information for policy comes from at least 3 sources In-text citations are used correctly. Reference page in APA format is done correctly. Most school libraries do not include their policies on their websites. You will need to look at the district website where they keep their school board policies. You can also search through the databases (Library Lit, for example) for a list of the steps that a reconsideration process would take. Identify each step, who is involved, and how does the process go to the next step until there is some kind of resolution. Be sure to look at the rubric so you can see a complete list of what I will be looking for.
