What affective variable should be assessed?

Answer: Periodic monitoring of a student’s affective status can help determine what sort of shifts in the instructional program might be needed. Also attitude toward learning, values dealing with integrity and truthfulness these things can shape their daily conduct.

What are some different types of affective assessments?

Different types of affective assessments are a student’s attitude this assesses the student’s personal view or opinion. This helps the teacher understand the student’s mindset and gives a perception on reality. Also student interests allows the teacher to understand what students enjoy. These are just a couple to name. These assessments usually fall under self-report inventory. This is a questionnaire that consists of several questions that the students are asked to complete anonymously.

Is affective assessment something you would consider in your own classroom?

Answer: I would consider affective assessment in my own classroom. Affective assessment can assist with figuring the personalities and overall attitude of the student. As a teacher I could really find out if the students truly understood your message about putting forth effort and retaining information. I think it helps the teacher know how the student is feel about the class overall. It will always be best for the student to do the assessment anonymously.
