For this assignment, you will complete a paper on one of the following topics (you choose): Topic 1 – Stress in Families Topic 2 – Finances and the Family; paper could be on debt, loans, mortgages, buying a home, credit cards, college loans, etc. Topic 3 – Divorce Topic 4 – Food and Nutrition in America; can be on any food topic in America today Topic 5 – Sleep (any issue relating to sleep in America) Topic 6 – Health and Wellness (any issue relating to the health of Americans) Topic 7 – Marriage; paper could be on any topic relating to marriages in America today Topic 8 – Adolescent Issues (Social media, self-esteem, obesity, stress, etc.) Topic 9 – Structure of the family, such as Single-Parent Households, Step-Families, Adoption, Religious differences in families, Same-Sex Marriages/Families, etc. The paper should be at least 5 pages of double-spaced text (excluding title page, abstract page, illustrations, charts, graphs, and reference page/s). The paper should be in APA (American Psychological Association) format and have a minimum of five resources. The paper must be submitted as a pdf file. Papers not in pdf receive point deductions. You should submit your pdf paper to Canvas by the due date/due time (see syllabus). Papers are put through software to check for plagiarism. Late papers receive a zero score. Do not use the textbook as a resource for this assignment. Pull in outside resources instead. This is a research paper, so first-person should not be used nor should opinions be expressed. The paper is describing the research found on the topic in a third person objective format (do not use “I”). Papers are expected to be well organized and at a collegiate level of writing. Use 12 pt. font and Times New Roman only. Be sure to not only list the resources on the Works Cited page, but also incorporate the research into the text of the paper and cite appropriately.
