Identify a theory of child development and write a 2-3 page paper(before reference list) that fully explains the theory. Include information about the context from which the theory emerged. Does the theory focus on a particular learning or growth domain? Is the theory based in developmental, academic, positivist or post-modern frameworks? Context: The school exists to serve the community more than the community to serve the school. However, a mutually collaborative relationship has significant benefits to both school and community. Harnessing the support of alumni residing locally can lend significant support to this relationship. In this assignment, you will revise your earlier paper regarding board, faculty, and staff relations and expand it to consider methods to create a mutually collaborative relationship with the community including parents, students, alumni, and other community members. For this assignment, the learner will continue working with the Collaborative Planning and Diagnostic Instrument included in the Rubin textbook. The learner will use the information gathered in phases 1-5 and develop a comprehensive plan for cultivating and maintaining a collaborative environment for a K-12 institution and community. General Requirements: 1) Refer to the Topic 3 assignment, “Board, Faculty, and Staff Relations” as well as any related feedback from the instructor. 2) This assignment uses a rubric. Understanding the intricate details of these in your specialization will help you manage and address specific problems in diverse educational organizations. Does your discipline have a professional organization that sets standards for it? Go online to this organization’s website, Facebook, LinkedIn etc. and find examples of professional standards that apply to your discipline as well as knowledge, skills, and attitudes. Fill in the professional standards chart with your findings. Be sure to cite all the websites that you used in proper APA format. If you are not employed in education, you should use the area of education that an acquaintance works in and look up the professional standards, knowledge, skills, and attitudes for that area using appropriate websites and proper APA style. Length: 1 completed decision-making chart and 1 completed professional standards chart.  References: The decision-making chart does not need references as it is a personal item. The professional standards chart requires you to give a reference for each website, Facebook page, LinkedIn page, etc. where you found information about the standards used in your area of specialization.

Using the readings, address the interplay between the self as researcher but also as the “object” of your studies as a means for deep critical self-reflection. Situate your own self in the context of history, family, community, identities and the process by which those have formed your own educational experiences. Scholarly Paper Assignment Instructions Describe the ideology/visions/beliefs of your approved educational theorist. Support your analysis with relevant quotations from your readings. Guiding questions include: What are the tenets of the person’s theories? What do these schools of thought enlighten and make ambiguous? What issues or concerns did the theorist seek to address?
