The Goal: The graduate relates principles of educational theory to their own personal perspective on education and to present issues and future trends in education.  The goal of Educational Thought Seminar is to expose you to literature on educational theory that will challenge your perspectives regarding the following topic: diversity and issues of fairness in education.   Instructions:  Write a brief essay (suggested length of 2–3 pages) about the first book you read from the attached reading list by doing the following:  A. Summarize the book you read and describe how the book connects to your personal perspective on education. Include specific examples from the book.  B. APPLICATION OF THEORY OR PERSPECTIVE TO THE FUTURE OF EDUCATION The discussion includes a specific and logical prediction for how the book’s educational theory or author’s perspective applies to the future of education. E. APA SOURCES The submission includes in-text citations and references for content that is quoted, paraphrased, or summarized and demonstrates a consistent application of APA style Questions to be addressed and answered in the essay: 1. What future trend in education is suggested or directly addressed by the book? Use your answer for #5 to describe how the book’s theory or author’s perspective applies to the future of education.

SB1 – Identify the program that you will provide recommendations for improving. Explain why the program needs to be improved and define the specific goals you will address. Present evidence to support the need for improvement. SB2 – Identify the market demand the existing program is designed to satisfy. What are the demographics and characteristics of the students in the program? Explain the need for any changes you will recommend as it applies to this population. If no changes are needed, why not? SB3 – Identify the processes used for evaluating teaching effectiveness and learning outcomes in the current program. How is teaching effectiveness managed in the program? Will anything change as a result of your recommendations? Explain. SB4 – Identify the marketing strategy and mix used to drive the enrollments in the current program. Will this change as part of your recommendations? Explain and support with current data and research. SB5 – Identify the learning platform or technologies that are used to deliver the current program and in supporting the online community? Provide an assessment of the current delivery platform as it compares to other options in the market. As a consultant, would recommend a change in the technologies used in either the learning platform, or the technologies used in supporting the online community or classroom activity? Support your recommendations. SB6 – Identify the ethical issues and risks associated with your program. How will you mitigate these issues? SB7 – Describe the cost of funding your suggested technology/program.

Context: The school exists to serve the community more than the community to serve the school. However, a mutually collaborative relationship has significant benefits to both school and community. Harnessing the support of alumni residing locally can lend significant support to this relationship. In this assignment, you will revise your earlier paper regarding board, faculty, and staff relations and expand it to consider methods to create a mutually collaborative relationship with the community including parents, students, alumni, and other community members. For this assignment, the learner will continue working with the Collaborative Planning and Diagnostic Instrument included in the Rubin textbook. The learner will use the information gathered in phases 1-5 and develop a comprehensive plan for cultivating and maintaining a collaborative environment for a K-12 institution and community. Cognitive development occurs as children acquire and process different kinds of knowledge.
