Weight Loss Program

Your supervisor has decided the employees of the company should participate in a weight-loss program and compete against the business across the street. Your supervisor isn’t sure how to begin the program and is asking you for some ideas. She wants to know How can we get employees interested in the weight-loss program? Will a competition get more employees to sign up? How long should we run the program? Should we have a goal? What should the program be called? Should there be a prize at the end for the person who lost the most weight? Should we get rid of Friday morning doughnuts during the program? Should we have some healthy eating and healthy living seminars to encourage our employees to be healthier? – Write an email to your supervisor answering her questions. Then write an email that will go to all employees. Include all the information they will need and use persuasion to get them to join the weight-loss program. Write a third email to your instructor explaining the differences between the emails to your supervisor and your fellow employees.

Logistics Strategy and Plan

How might the U.S. best distribute a coronavirus vaccine once it becomes available? Now that there are glimmers of hope for a coronavirus vaccine, governments, NGOs and others are hashing out plans for how vaccines could be distributed once they are available — and deciding who will get them first. In President Trump’s May 15, 2020 announcement of Operation Warp Speed (OWS) — the official effort to accelerate the fight against the pandemic — President Trump said that “when a vaccine is ready, the U.S. government will deploy every plane, truck, and soldier required to help distribute it to the American people as quickly as possible.”  Consider: Who gets it first and how? There could be multiple doses required.  How would this best be handled? What if there are multiple vaccines over different time periods that are to be made available.  How will this complicate things? The bottom line: “We’ve never faced anything of this scale, and urgency and complexity before. … The pressures to get the vaccine out are simply going to be extraordinary,” Please elaborate on your specific “logistics strategy and plan” to meet these extraordinary challenges.
