[SOLUTION] Physiology Matters
Teri goes to see her PCP after feeling depressed last couple of months as well as experiencing a seizure earlier this week. The physician orders a few test, results are shown below: Low hematocrit Low levels of Vit B12 Low Oxygen levels Presence of autoantibodies against the parietal cell Peripheral blood smear shows abnormal RBC (large pale RBCs) After viewing the results, Teri is diagnosed with Pernicious Anemia; a condition in which autoantibodies destroys the parietal cells found within the stomach. Address each of the following regarding Teris case: Since the parietal cell is destroyed, which substance(s) is Teri lacking as a consequence? What is the correlation between destruction of parietal cells and Vit B12 deficiency? Due to her condition, Teri lacks Pepsin. Explain why. If Teri were healthy, explain what her RBCs would look like? What is hematocrit? Low oxygen levels stimulate her body to create new RBCs by stimulating which process? Explain that process in depth. What protein transports oxygen in our body and explain its structure? What cell secretes antibodies and explain the various functions of antibodies. What are the different types of antibodies and give two characteristics for each? Explain the structure of an immunoglobulin. Support your opinions with evidence from your readings and research. [SOLUTION] Elements of Biostatsical Study
In this reflective writing , I would like to agree or disagree & explain why ? And used examples in our day to day to respond to this reflective writing . You can cited a source if needed but it is not recommended Reflective writing about : I chose an article on studying dietary modifications to combat fatigue in Relapsing-Remitting Multiple Sclerosis (RRMS). The population being studied in the article is range from 18 to 70 years old, have clinically been identified as having RRMS by McDonald Criteria, are able to ambulate 25 feet with either no or unilateral support, living within 500 miles of Iowa City, and able to participate in dietary changes and shop for their food. These participants were further divided into two groups, the group values at 45 assuming a 25% attrition rate to continue with the 34 patients required in each group. To date the study has recruited 58 participants and is ongoing, with the group randomized blind to the study observer to a low fat or paleo diet. Changes in patient outcomes is measured by subjective report. As the expectation in the study is improvement in both groups, and the reported data is subjective, modifications to the study were added, with a 12 week observation of normal diet, and measure from and accelerometer for actual physical data was added. The study itself includes a 36 week, parallel, randomized trial with 2 groups broke into three 12 week intervals of observation, intervention, and follow up.
