Identify one key concept that you learned in chapters covered through week 3 that you think is important for your professional career.  Write a 2 page paper on the concept you chose.  In your paper, cover these key points: Full describe the concept you identified from what you learned so far.  Be very detailed and pretend you are explaining the concept to someone who knows very little about it.  Be sure to include citations to sources from the library and textbook.  You will need to use APA format. Identify how you will apply the concept to the job you have or that you aspire to achieve.  Be very specific about the job role and tasksTell why you think knowledge of this concept is important. A 27-year-old patient with a history of substance abuse is found unresponsive by emergency medical services (EMS) after being called by the patient’s roommate. The roommate states that he does not know how long the patient had been lying there. The patient received naloxone in the field and has become responsive. He complains of burning pain over his left hip and forearm. Evaluation in the ED revealed a large amount of necrotic tissue over the greater trochanter as well as the forearm. What is an “Initial Reflection?” It certainly implies that there will be a Final Reflection, and you are correct! There will be a final reflection at the end of the course. Reflective writing is one way for you to see how your knowledge, understanding, and goals evolve over time. This assignment is designed to give you an anchor point for who you are and what you know as you enter this course. You are “reflecting” on what you know – in other words, describing for yourself and me, a little of all the good things in your brain/heart at this point in time. Then, at the end of the course, you will have a similar assignment so you can “reflect” on what has changed and what has not. For this journal entry, you have three options on the formatting list below. We are all different so tend to have different ways we deal with stress, reflect, etc. So choose the option that best fits you!  In your reply post, discuss whether or not you would choose to have LASIK surgery for the vision problem that your classmate explained. In your opinion, do the benefits outweigh the risks? Myopia is also known as nearsightedness and is a condition where you can see close or nearby things clearly, but things in a distance are extremely blurry.  Myopia is commonly caused due to having a longer eyeball than the average person. What occurs in Myopia is the light rays focus in front of the retina which causes blurred vision in a distance. During the LASIK surgery, some tissue is removed from the eyes to allow the light to properly focus on the retina and back of the eye. Post an analysis of the dimensions of oppression and marginalization that might impact your future clients. Be specific in identifying the types of clients with whom you might work. In your analysis, explain how the concepts of multiculturalism, power, and privilege are relevant to social work practice.

Watch at least 2 episodes of any television situation comedy. After watching the programs, identify any minority characters, and write one to two pages about how one of these minor characters are portrayed.  Detail if the portrayal was stereotypical and if the minority status alone was used humor.  For the third page of the paper, please discuss ways that stereotypes can sabotage counseling progress.  Give two ways that a counselor/therapist can limit the negative aspects of stereotypes in individual and group counseling.  The paper must be in APA format.  The page count does not include the title, abstract, or reference pages.
