“Familiarize yourself with Carol Berkin’s book Revolutionary Mothers and other literature of your choice if any about the role people of color and women in the American Revolution and the early days of the Republic, perhaps continuing into the role of Dolly Madison in the evacuation of Washington, D.C. During the War of 1812 and going as far as perhaps the role of women during the Jacksonian Era and religious movements such as the Latter Day Saints (also known as Mormons), the Oneida, Shakers, and Quakers. Be sure to include women of color and other disadvantaged groups. In answering all these questions be sure to give the reasons for your opinions. Even if you do not have an opinion you should still analyze all possible scenarios. Also, explain the likelihood of other possibilities even if you do not believe they are possible.
