Instructions for Term Paper 1 Research your own culture and another culture that you wish to study using research reports published in academic journals, ethnographies, interviews, and published reference materials. A minimum of six sources should be used to document information in the literature review, two of which must be published research reports or ethnographies. In addition, students are to use members of the subject culture for at least two sources. 2. The literature review should begin with an introduction, no more than one and a half pages in length, followed by a logically organized and detailed report from the available literature that answers 6 out of the 12 research questions listed below for this project. If you wish to use research questions not listed below, you must meet with the instructor for approval. The term paper should be about 20 pages in length, not including the reference section and in double spacing. 3. Write the paper according to APA style guidelines. This especially applies to the use of in-text citations and the reference section. Note: This paper is a formal research paper and should be written in third person. 4. What are some of the language or dialectical differences found in this culture? 6. How are the various social or gender roles viewed in this culture? 7. Do the family structure and roles differ in this culture? If yes, in what ways? 8. For someone going to this culture for a study abroad or a work assignment, what information would aid her/his cultural adjustment? 9. How does this culture’s history influence perception and communication between this culture and your own culture? 10. How does this culture’s government I political structure influence perception and communication between this culture and your own culture? 11. What are some of the stereotypes people of your culture have about people in the culture you have studied? What are the bases for these stereotypes? 12.
