A Crisis in Terms of an Emergency

Thomas Sowell, a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution, has stated that we “have difficulty understanding the strange way words are used by politicians and the media”.  We often think of a crisis in terms of an emergency, a situation of utmost urgency, maybe even life or death. According to Sowell, politicians use the term differently. They define a crisis as any situation they want to change. Discuss how you define a crisis.
