Improving your health enhances your life and academic success. Your personal health choices affect the lives of others too, Review Chapter 1 for additional benefits of healthy living. PART I: 1) Construct a welcome letter to the students taking HED 210 next year. To prepare this letter begin by taking out the syllabus. Think of how you felt the first day of class when we discussed: “What is Health”? Review all the topics and activities you were involved in and how that has impacted the way you think and how you act in regards to promoting or protecting your health as well as the health of the people around you. 2) What would you like to say to future students who are going to take this class? What would you have done differently based on what you know today? How valuable was this class in assisting you in taking charge of your health habits and influencing your academic success? In your letter make sure to tell the students about 1) the course content and activities; 2) the Personal Health Portfolio; 3) completing the assessments; and 4) Blackboard assignments. You can add additional information, but primarily tell them how to successfully complete the course and how it impacts academic success. Provide future students with an academic success plan in your letter. PART II: In Module 5 you created a SMART goal. Write a 3-4 paragraph narrative to include the following: Your SMART goal created in Module 5 The specific changes/objectives what you plan to do in the future at CSU to lead you to attaining the goal The records you will keep along the way to keep you on track of your goal A summary of your behavior change that includes: How you believe you will progress through the behavior change process Do you really plan to do what you planned to do or will you let it slip by? Why or why not? What changes in your strategies to achieve your goal might you change? What support will you have (or not have) from those people around you How will your SMART goal help you in your health and wellness as well as your academic success? Please note in the reporting reflection items above you will be graded on the quality of the effort you have put into making your goal. Your grade will focus on: If you have a reasonable, achievable goal? If you have a high-quality action plan that actually would move you toward your goal? How you will keep your records so you can track your progress?
