Complete your week 1 required discussion prompt. Discussion Prompt: This week, you learned that a healthcare worker will be exposed to a diverse population of individuals on a daily basis. While medical professionals must have the highest level of technical skill, they must also have the highest level of professionalism. That level of professionalism requires healthcare workers to be educated on different cultures, different religions, different sexual orientations, and different socioeconomic classes because those differences will change the type of care that the patient will require from the caregiver. For this prompt, you will each choose one culture, religion, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic class from the following list: Muslim, Hispanic, Native American, Indian, Russian, Baptist, Catholic, Jewish, Jehovah’s Witness, Amish, Christian Scientist, Islamic, Buddhist, homosexual, transgender, low-income, middle class, or upper class. Please choose one that has not already been discussed by a classmate.  In your post, first educate your classmates on general knowledge of your category of patients. Next, discuss the specific beliefs of that category of individuals that a medical professional would need to know in order to provide proper care.
