Hume’s Epistemology
Explain how Hume’s epistemology leaves us with the problem of induction, in that the future has no necessary connection to the past; thus, undermining the scientific method. How does Kant’s notion of the synthetic a priori address this problem? Critically examine the strengths and weaknesses of Hume and Kant’s criteria of knowledge, and defend one side over the other. In other words, does Kant’s synthetic a priori solve the problem of induction? This is a research paper; therefore, all primary and secondary sources must be cited. In other words, your paper must include a bibliography and footnotes.
