Both options are from Chapter 11:  Family Stress and Crisis:  Violence Among Intimates Option A: There are three parts to address in this option: 1.  Explain both the ABC-X and the Double ABC-X models of family stress and crisis.  Select one of those two models and give an example of how that model would explain and evaluate a family crisis.  You may use an actual family crisis or a fictitious family crisis–either way give a brief description of the crisis and then apply the model. 2.  The text notes that families from all walks of life abuse children. How do the motivations and reasons for the abuse vary by social class? 3. Why is elder abuse be so high in the United States? What factors might contribute to the high numbers of elders who are exploited financially and who are neglected? Option B:  There are three parts to address in this option: Part 1:  According to the textbook, what is intimate partner violence; then provide an example. Part 2:  Select one of four types of intimate partner violence discussed in the chapter, (common couple violence, intimate terrorism, violent resistance, mutual violent control) and give a description of that type of violence. Then present a summary of the statistics of that type or another type of intimate partner violence from the NCADM website.  Please state the type of intimate partner violence you are providing a statistical summary for.
