Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) is one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases in the United States of America. Some strains of HPV can cause cancer; however, there is a vaccine that can be used to prevent it. The infection in most scenarios occurs when the virus enters one’s body through a cut or abrasion or a very tiny tear in the epidermis. Primarily the virus is transferred through skin to skin contact. HPV can be transferred through having sex through trough the anas, oral, and vaginal sex with someone who already has the virus. Additionally, any other skin to skin contact in the genital area can also cause the transmission of this virus. From the research findings, we found out as a group that HPV could be cured by the mushroom extract. The common symptoms of this virus in females include the human genitalia warts. On most occasions, genital warts appear as either a tiny bump or many bumps that are together. In females, they mainly affect the vulva. These warts can range from size, appearance, and shape. Some of the types of HPV can cause cervical cancer, vaginal cancer, and anal cancer if not prevented or treated in time (Jin, P.1058). In males, the symptoms of HPV include the appearance of genital warts in the penis, scrotum, or around the anus (Fischer, p.24). From our findings, we noticed that diagnosing HPV in males has been a challenge since most signs start to show at a late stage. Since this virus affects the most sensitive parts of the body, the genitals it is therefore advisable to use an observational design to examine the research question. The experimental design may not be an appropriate way of carrying out this research since this may lead to close contact or touching of the genitals that may finally lead to further transmission of other viruses.
