Emergency Planning
The CDC has great resources for health care organizations and other businesses as well. You can view these resources at the CDCs emergency planning website (http://emergency.cdc.gov/). Choose one of the types of natural disaster and devise an action plan to prepare your local community for this disaster. Prepare a professional proposal to presen to your local governmental officials to use as a guide when preparing the community for this natural disaster. Be sure to cover the following topics in your journal entry: Identify local, state, and federal resources available for assisting in your community natural disaster preparedness, during the disaster, and/or post-disaster recovery. Differentiate the roles of the family, community, local government, and national government within your chosen natural disaster. Identify and discuss the role of the public health nurse in the stages of the disaster management cycle for your chosen natural disaster in your community.
