Assignment One: Research Summary Project Objective – Demonstrate an understanding of scholarly research through collegiate pre-writing exercises and writing strategies. Critical thinking and scholarly research are at the forefront of every written assignment at the collegiate level. Using research skills to find new and supporting information on an assigned topic will allow the reader to write credibly and efficiently on any given topic relevant to academic writing. During Week Five you will begin the process of preparing for your final Research and Writing project for this course. This week you will have the opportunity to explore fundamental principles of research in your final writing project for this class, have the opportunity to select the topic for your final research and writing project for the class. Choose one of the five topics listed below for your research summary writing assignment. Utilize the Internet two find at least two outside resources related to your selected topic. After concluding your initial research for this assignment, complete a brief research summary analysis of your findings. Your summary should be a minimum of two to three pages (not counting your cover page and Bibliography listings), formatted according to Turabian guidelines, and integrated with direct references to the resources you discovered in your research investigation for this topic. There is a wealth of information on the Internet for each topic below. If you choose Corrie ten Boom as your subject, please use sources other than your textbooks for this assignment.
