During the final two weeks of the semester we will be showcasing a batch of rich media projects that will contribute to our final exam content. Details discussed as we get closer. So, what is rich media? For our purposes, we will define rich media as any combination of graphics, audio, video, and animation used to convey information or ideas. At their best, rich media projects integrate multiple media formats (e.g., sound and video) to maximize engagement, interactivity, and data density. They can help you to connect with your audience on multiple levels, enabling you to powerfully communicate your message. Although there are exceptions, all presentations should follow the guidelines below. A. 3-5 minutes in length. This may sound long, but it is surprisingly hard to condense and consolidate your main ideas into a 3-minute video. Most of you will be forced to edit and cut sections to meet this requirement. B. Creativity/originality. You are not expected to simply outline your Industry Analysis paper in this rich media component of your project. Rather, I encourage you to creatively educate your classmates (and me!) on the topic. Have fun with this part of the assignment, and use as much or as little from your paper as you feel appropriate, so long as you stay on topic . C. Permission and copyrights. It is very important that we all abide by the copyright policies outlined in class. Details on this discussed as we get closer. D. Approval. Once your rich media is completed, I will need to approve the project before it can be shown to the class. We can discuss this as the need arises. E. Timely submission. Rich media projects should be submitted as .mp4 or .mov files into Canvas by the due date on our course schedule. Just a quick reminder to please NOT PUBLISH your rich media projects in a public forum, like YouTube of Facebook. These are meant for IN-CLASS use only. You should give me Rich media first.
