Answer the following “Questions for Self-Reflection.” Your response for each question should be no less than 250 words. Using Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs model, which level describes your life today? Have you ever experienced the level of self-actualization that is at the top of the pyramid? What did that feel like? How would you describe this feeling to a friend whom you’ve not seen in a few years? Have you ever struggled with the first level of the pyramid? What did that feel like? Were your frightened, anxious, or tense? How do you think parents with small children feel and act when they are struggling to fulfill their needs and their children’s needs when they feel trapped at the first step? How will Maslow’s theory affect your work with parents and children? Develop a few of your own “Educator Tips.” Explain why these “tips” are important and how they will benefit children and families.
