[SOLVED] Summary of Research Article
Objective: This assignment requires you to read and evaluate a research-based scholarly article about children from age 0 – 5. Please select an article that describes a research study on a topic of interest to you. You are looking for an article, not a book or a web site. The best place to find one is in a database of scholarly material, not necessarily on the internet, although there are now some open source journals that are peer reviewed and accessible outside the databases. The key is that your article must have a TITLE, an AUTHOR or AUTHORS, a JOURNAL TITLE, a DATE. It must indicate the goal, methodology and outcomes of a single research study in detail. After you locate and read the article, you will summarize it in your own words. Linked below is an article about how to summarize an article in case this is a new skill for you. Please do not propose newspaper or popular magazine articles, summaries of several different studies, book reviews or literature reviews. CQ Researcher and Opposing Viewpoints are also to be avoided. Guideline: Write your summary in your own words, and quote the author of the journal minimally, only as needed to support your summary. Cite the authors in the body of the text when you use definitions, concepts, theories, even if you paraphrase the author’s words. When you use the actual words of the original author, even only four or five of them, include the passage inside quotation marks, and use APA parenthetical style for citing the author, the date, and the page number. If even one sentence of your article summary has been copied from the original without attribution, your assignment will receive a score of 0 and may not be resubmitted.
