[SOLVED] Transcultural Perspective

Hi, this is my introduction for my paper thus far.1. Discuss Gell’s theory and apply it to the artworks of Jackson Hlungwani in an attempt to interpret them from a transcultural perspective.2. Argue that when interpreted in an art museum setting the audience is to a certain extent invited to project meaning onto these works which is informed by conventional Western art knowledge.When viewed from this perspective the works of Jackson Hlungwani lose their originality intended meaning. By using Gell’s approach to interpret these works, it is possible to analyze them in a way that somewhat retains their original purpose as functional objects, even though they have long since been removed from New Jerusalem.
