Students have the freedom to design the brochure in a way that helps the general public understand the specific issue. The easiest thing to do is create a new document in Microsoft Word and select a tri-fold brochure. Make sure the brochure is two-sided. The point of the brochures is to highlight an economic issue with solid data and economic reasoning to raise public awareness. Students must clearly favor or oppose the policy in the brochure in a compelling way with strong economic reasoning. A grading rubric has been loaded in Canvas. Policy Issue #2 The government determines that Wal-Mart is operating as a monopoly and is putting smaller, locally owned, companies out of business. Their plan is to break Wal-Mart into 3 smaller independently owned companies such as Wal-Mart Grocery and Pharmacy, Wal-Mart Hardware and Automotive, and Wal-Mart Home Goods.
