[SOLVED] Disaster Recovery
On May 22, 2011; Joplin Missouri was struck by a tornado which killed more people than any other U.S. tornado since 1947. Reviewing this disaster, please address the following questions. As always please cite your references. Disaster Recovery includes the accounting for victims, the recovery, identification and safeguarding of human remains. Did the authorities in Joplin handle this in an adequate manner ? Please explain. Was there evidence of governmental strategic, operational and tactical plans in place prior to the disaster ? Were there signs of business and organization continuity plans in Joplin prior to the disaster? What are the signs there now of business and organization recovery in Joplin ? Critique the recovery efforts of St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Joplin. Could your local community recover after such a disaster ?
