Instructors spend most of their professional lives using and interacting with curriculum. Curriculum is usually produced by a publisher or other expert in a specific content area. However, educators must evaluate curriculum as it relates to their specific context. It is important, therefore, that educators use curriculum design models to evaluate possible strengths and weaknesses of curriculum. In this task, you will choose a curriculum unit that is familiar to you and evaluate its effectiveness. You will use your knowledge of curriculum design principles and models to inform your evaluation.Please use the Creative Curriculum in a PreK setting A. Evaluate the effectiveness of your chosen curriculum in a specific content area (e.g., ninth-grade mathematics, fifth-grade reading, human resources onboarding) by doing the following: 1. Describe the intended outcomes of the curriculum. a. Justify whether the curriculum is effective in addressing the intended outcomes described in part A1, including specific examples to support your claims. 2. Evaluate the degree to which the curriculum adheres to curriculum design principles, including specific support for your claims. B. Critique the principles of two curriculum design models (e.g., backward design, Tylers rationale, standards-based curriculum design) that would be appropriate for your instructional context by doing the following: 1. Assess the effectiveness of the two design models for your instructional context. a. Analyze the strengths and weaknesses of both design models. 2. Discuss how you might apply one of these design models to an instructional unit in the curriculum you evaluated in part A. C. Acknowledge sources, using APA-formatted in-text citations and references, for content that is quoted, paraphrased, or summarized. D. Demonstrate professional communication in the content and presentation of your submission.
