LITERATURE REVIEW Primary Variable Secondary Variable(s) Bridging the Gap Conceptual Hypotheses This is what I have so far- Purpose of Study The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between a Florida elementary, middle, and secondary public school administrators prior professional and academic experiences brought to the job and principal self-efficacy. Research Questions (Assistant principals will be included) 1.Is there a relationship between principals years of teaching experiences and perceptions of self-efficacy in instructional and curricular leadership? (In Florida) 2. Is there a relationship between principals former teacher related duties (i.e. committees) and perceptions of self-efficacy in instructional and curricular leadership? (In Florida) Instruments Teacher self-efficacy scale Instructional Leadership scale (possibilities) Categorical independent variables; gender, ethnicity, building level for principalship, grade level(s) and academic discipline(s) taught, non-educational professional experience(s), teaching certificate and licensure, types of bachelors and masters degrees, types of administrative and doctorate specialists degrees, and teaching duties lying outside the classroom. Quantitative continuous variables include years of experience for teaching and principalship and number of earned bachelors and masters degrees.
