The views of data privacy would have an effect on the public opinion for each region. In order to understand the effects of public opinion, we would have to focus on the research of the basics. Since the citizens have different views, there would be diverse types of data privacy within the region. How does public opinion on data privacy change in relation to the use of data? This question helps us determine what the public in each region might deem “acceptable” versus what is “unacceptable” use of data. Through this question, we can explore how public opinion might change on data privacy when the institutions collecting it are more or less transparent about their use of data, and also find similarities or differences in where each public “draws the line”, so to speak. How does surveillance tie into public opinion on data privacy? Surveillance capitalism is an open discussion in the U.S., and this system is also very essential for contributing to the economy. So it could create a huge impact if this system must make a change for a response to the public opinion. When the issue is openly discussed, and the public has the opportunity to access this information, how would the public view the pros and cons of data surveillance? Also, is there a transparent discussion about data privacy in every region across these areas? Do governments, institutions, and cooperation openly share their data sources and data usage? Does the fact have or not having a discussion on data privacy affect public opinions?
