You can exceed the page number if need be but don’t go over 10 pages. This is only an example: You chose Sentencing. Your paper would consist of research concerning sentencing issues in the United States. Or, for example, you could compare and contrast sentencing patterns and customs in the US vs. another country. You could also write about sentencing disparities based on race or socio economic issues. You can focus your paper on types of sentencing, i.e. the benefits of probation versus prison sentences. You could write a paper on the death penalty (pro or against). You can write about the weaknesses or strengths of sentencing, the problems that have arisen in our nation with strict sentencing guidelines, etc. You have freedom to shape your topic into something that you want to work on and that pleases you or you are very curious about. The only limit is your imagination. Feel free to write about anything that interests you within that topic.
