PAPER 2 You’ll want to edit your current draft and add new material. Paper 2 is a creative piece, so the revision will depend on what you wrote. Editing: • If I made suggestions for adding/changing material, consider them. You don’t have to change stuff because I suggested it. Adding new material You’ve got a few options. Choose any/all of these, or a combination: • Where do you want your story to go next? What do you think was happening to your characters before the story began? If you want, you can add a short “sequel” at the end, or a “prequel” at the beginning. • Add elements of a new genre. For example: If you wrote a western for paper 2, can you revise it to add some horror elements, or noir fiction elements? • Expand your explanation. You wrote about 400 words of explanation at the end of paper 2, to tell me about your writing process. Be sure to expand of update this. All together, you should add about 500 words (more is fine). That’s about a page’s worth of new material. The same criteria from paper 2 apply. Be sure you’re clearly using genre details. If you quote someone else’s words, be sure to cite them.
