This portfolio assignment assists you to develop your skills in teaching Health and Physical Education, and being prepared with teaching resources for the classroom. This assignment constitutes the first part of your Portfolio.  By gathering information into a portfolio, you will demonstrate an ability to identify, evaluate and transmit ideas about effective principles, policies and practices for developing Health and Physical Education within a primary school setting. This assignment requires you to add a reflective dialogue and track your reasons for including specific evidence. Your portfolio should not just be a collection of resources. It is important to have evidence of academic and reflective underpinning in order to achieve the requirements of this assignment. Assignment 2A portfolio items 1 Food and nutrition An online resource  relating to the teaching of food and nutrition. 2 Movement and skills An online video  you can use to highlight correct skills technique of a movement skill. Your descriptive rationale must include an outline for a program or plan to develop the skill presented in the video. This plan must incorporate ability and inclusion concerns. 3 Rhythmic and expressive movement A resource you have found (e.g. piece of music, image, story, or object) that can be used as a prompt for expressive movement. Your descriptive rationale must include an explanation of the pedagogical approach(es) that will underpin your use of this resource. Your portfolio is to contain three separate items that relate to each of the themes/topic areas as specified in the following table. You will only need one resource for each theme/topic area. Using template, address and complete the following components:   ·        a name and brief description of each item ·        evidence of the resource, such as a photograph, document (e.g. MS Word) or URL (if from an external source) ·        a lesson plan overview that will explain how the resource will be used. This must include: 1.     a brief description of the resource, including a clear link to relevant curriculum documentation 2.     an explanation of how it would be used in Health and Physical Education, providing evidence of knowledge and understanding of pedagogy, tools, methods, and resources 3.     an analysis of the technology aspect of the resource (with a focus on student engagement) and how it relates to the curriculum 4.     assessment strategies and record-keeping 5.     an analysis of the benefits and limitations of the resource, linked to academic literature and curricula documentation (i.e. the Australian Curriculum), demonstrating evidence connecting academic literature to practice.
